Product Introduction

The CST620 Data Downloader is a handheld device tool for data reading, storage and downloading. Its large LCD screen and graphical menu provide excellent human-machine interaction functionality. The CST620 supports high-capacity SD cards and can save test data in FAT file format on the SD card, allowing convenient data viewing on PCs.

This downloader incorporates a high-capacity lithium-ion battery, and its low-power consumption design ensures up to 7 days of continuous operation on a single charge. The instrument is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with built-in charge/discharge management circuitry to prevent overcharging and over-discharging. The battery provides up to 40 hours of continuous operation per full charge.

The CST620 Handheld Data Downloader utilizes anti-static engineering plastic with an anti-static coating on its surface. Its built-in battery features explosion-proof circuit design and has obtained national intrinsic safety certification for explosion-proof products. It complies with:

  • GB3836.1-2010 "Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Gas Atmospheres - Part 1: General Requirements"

  • GB3836.4-2010 "Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Atmospheres - Part 4: Protection by Intrinsic Safety 'i'"

The explosion-proof marking is Ex ib IIB T4 Gb, making it suitable for Zone 2 areas with T1-T4 explosive gas mixtures. It has passed inspection by the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Explosion-Protected Electrical Products and obtained the explosion-proof certification.


Working Principle
   The CST620 Handheld Data Downloader utilizes the C8051F120 microcontroller as its main control chip, with external circuits including an SD card driver circuit, serial communication circuit, keyboard control circuit, and LCD display circuit.

This handheld Data Downloader features a built-in virtual interactive interface capable of simulating user configuration interfaces for multiple corrosion monitoring instruments. It automatically identifies instrument models and serial numbers, then activates the corresponding user interface accordingly. This design enables a single downloader to manage multiple devices (CST400C, CST480), while creating and maintaining separate databases for each, ensuring clear and organized field data management.

Application Cases

In a substation structural steel fireproofing coating project, the CST620 Handheld Data Downloader played a critical role as the core tool for field data management. The project aimed to detect early-stage coating failures invisible to the naked eye. With its intrinsic safety certification (Exib Ⅱ BT4 Gb), the CST620 ensured operational safety and compliance in hazardous areas such as substations. Personnel regularly used the CST620 to connect to corrosion monitoring probes distributed at key locations. Its user-friendly graphical interface simplified parameter configuration and data retrieval operations.

The device automatically identifies and creates independent databases, systematically organizing corrosion rate data from different monitoring points (e.g., equipment rooms and outdoor windward surfaces). Field data was efficiently exported to PCs via SD cards for in-depth analysis. Through statistical analysis of long-term accumulated steel corrosion data beneath the coatings, the project enabled accurate assessment of fireproof coating degradation trends and provided early warnings. This data-driven approach delivered essential support for developing precise maintenance strategies and extending facility service life, significantly enhancing the intelligence level of safety management.
